Države članice lahko dodatno določijo posebne pogoje za obdelavo nacionalne identifikacijske številke ali katerega koli drugega identifikatorja, ki se splošno uporablja. V tem primeru se nacionalna identifikacijska številka ali kateri koli drug identifikator, ki se splošno uporablja, uporablja le z ustreznimi zaščitnimi ukrepi za pravice in svoboščine posameznika, na katerega se nanašajo osebni podatki, v skladu s to uredbo.

Member States may further determine the specific conditions for the processing of a national identification number or any other identifier of general application. In that case the national identification number or any other identifier of general application shall be used only under appropriate safeguards for the rights and freedoms of the data subject pursuant to this Regulation.
